NANUK 908 Ammo Case Review: Secure, Waterproof, and Built to Last

The NANUK 908 Ammo Case is a very durable, lightweight, waterproof case which is great for storing your ammunition or other smaller pieces of equipment to and from the range. It’s made from impact-resistant NK-7 resin with stainless steel hardware which resists rust and corrosion.

In my personal experience in the military and with friends, the typical ammo container you see are the green metal containers with the big latches and awkward handle on the top. They were also very narrow, and only useful if you had the same ammo type inside.

The NANUK 908 Ammo Case on the other hand has a great open layout, excellent latch design, and a handle that can snap against the case with a comfortable grip. It’s a decent enough size for being able to store miscellaneous items too, like ear protection or small paper targets.

A similar case to the NANUK 908 would be the Pelican Air 1507, and that thing goes for over $300! So the NANUK 908 is a bargain without compromising on durability.

Durability

The NANUK 908 Ammo Case is made from NK-7 Resin which is lightweight, durable, and very smooth.

NANUK cases are tested to meet high standards for durability in harsh environments. It meets Military-Specifications for submersion and has been drop tested to simulate real-world situations such as transportation.

The handle on the NANUK 908 case is made from NK-7 high-impact polypropylene resin and thermoplastic elastomer. This combination ensures the handle is both durable and comfortable to grip. The handle also conveniently folds flush against the case for compact storage.

PowerClaw Latches

There are two PowerClaw latches on the NANUK 908 Ammo Case to keep items inside secure and waterproof. The PowerClaw latches utilize a triple-action system that has compressive force, spring-loaded slide locks, and polycarbonate construction to securely tighten the case.

Automatic Pressure Relief Valve

nanuk 908

The NANUK 908 Ammo Case has an automatic pressure relief valve built into the front of the case. This is excellent in order to prevent a vacuum seal after going at different altitudes with the case. Even with the valve, the NANUK 908 Ammo Case is still waterproof and has been submerged tested.

Foam Inserts

If you’d like to use your NANUK 908 Ammo Case for something other than ammunition, you can purchase Foam Inserts on NANUK’s website for $20. (Don’t forget about my discount code, TGG15, to save 15%!).

The foam inserts are cubed so that you can remove sections of the foam in order to fit the item you want to store and protect it nicely.

Padlock Hole

The NANUK 908 Ammo Case is lockable as well, with two placements to have a pad lock attached. The diameter of the padlock hole 0.34 inches.

NANUK also has the ability to install TSA Locks, as found on the NANUK 990 Rifle Case. You can read about that case here.

Conslusion

The NANUK 908 Ammo Case is a very durable, well-built, waterproof, drop-tested case, and is made in Canada. Everything about this case is phenomenal, and it’s very affordable at only $100 CAD.

The NK-7 Resin is tough, it uses stainless steel hardware, and the triple-action locking system ensures that your items inside stay protected and waterproof, even when it’s submerged.
