It has an output of 3000 lumens and 56,600 candela for excellent beam intensity. When I was looking online for a tactical flashlight that could attach to an M-LOK rail, utilize a pressure switch, and be affordable and reliable at the same time, the options were very limited! When I stumbled upon the Fenix tactical flashlights, I was happy to find an affordable, quality, M-LOK capable tactical flashlight with a pressure switch!Full DisclosureI am an affiliate with Fenix Lighting, which means I make a small commission on purchases made using the links I provide, at no extra cost to you.Fenix also provided the TK20R V2.0 with the full AR setup for this review. The M-LOK mount for the flashlight itself uses a wheel mechanism to tighten and loosen the attachment points.Fenix also has an M-LOK Pressure Switch Mount for the Tactical Remote Switch, so you don’t have to rely on using adhesive tape. The mount holds the pressure switch very nicely. Here’s the Fenix Lighting accessories I’m currently running on my rifle.ALG-16 M-LOK Rail MountAER-05 Tactical Remote SwitchALG-06 Pressure Switch Mount for M-LOKBeam Shot ComparisonBelow are some comparison images to give you an idea of how bright and intense the output on the TK20R V2.0 really is.Mazda 3: High BeamsFenix TK20R V2.0 (3000 Lumens @ 56,600cd)WUBEN T1 (2000 Lumens @ 62,013cd)Compared to the WUBEN T1 (which has less lumens but more candela) the TK20R V2.0 is very similar. The TK20R V2.0 has more of a white-light with ever-so-slightly more spillage. To give you some perspective, the WUBEN T1 is a beast of a tactical flashlight. So to see the TK20R V2.0 have a similar result while being slightly smaller is impressive.PerformanceI’ve been very happy with the performance of the Fenix TK20R V2.0 Tactical Flashlight. As you saw above, the brightness and the intensity are very good. The 3000 lumens is extremely bright! But the nearly 60,000cd takes that 3000 lumens and focuses it on a single point. With a tactical flashlight mounted on a rifle, you don’t really need anything more than a throw of 500 meters. What you want is a high lumen output with a good amount of intensity.ModesThere are 5 brightness modes on the Fenix TK20R V2.0 and a Strobe Mode. The Tactical Switch (main button) is used to turn on and off the flashlight. Then the Functional Switch (smaller button) is used to change the mode/output level. It does have a memory, so whichever mode/output the flashlight was in when it was turned off, it will return to that same output when turned back on.The Functional Switch will immediately engage the Strobe Mode when pressed down.In my opinion, it would be nice to have an S.O.S. Function somehow. Perhaps by triple-clicking the Tactical Switch button or something. This is something seen in other tactical-style flashlights.Build QualityThe TK20R V2.0 is very well built. It’s not super heavy, but it has that bit of weight to it that tells you that it’s a good quality built flashlight. The machining is very well done. There’s no sharp or rough edges.Lens & OpticsThe Fenix TK20R V2.0 uses a LUMINUS SFT70 LED with a smooth reflector.HeadThe head has these nice bevels to it around the lens. This is good for standing the TK20R V2.0 on it’s face without having the lens contact the ground. The bevel head is also good for breaking windows in the event of an emergency, or for self-defense.The head of the TK20R V2.0 does heat up a bit when it’s in turbo mode. This could be alleviated by having cooling fins, but this would also increase the diameter of the flashlight. Since turbo isn’t meant to be engaged for long durations, this is not a huge deal.BodyThe size of the TK20R V2.0 is very good overall. With the grooves and edges, I can get a solid grasp of the flashlight. The head isn’t too much wider than the body itself, which allows the TK20R V2.0 to be mounted closer to the rifle.Tail CapThe tail cap is machined very well with smooth threading. The small spring has good amount of tension but not too much where it becomes difficult to engage the threads.Rechargeable BatteryThe TK20R V2.0 uses a 21700 lithium-ion battery. This battery is very robust and will last for a very long time. The battery is rechargeable also by having it inserted into the flashlight, and then plugging in the TK20R with the included USB-C charging cable.USB-C ChargingOne of the upgrades of the Fenix TK20R V2.0 compared to its older version is that it used a USB-C charging port. This is far more durable than the micro USB. This is a common choice by most flashlight manufacturers. An excellent design feature is that the charging port for the TK20R is hidden under a cap which is threaded on the body itself. This is what helps make the Fenix TK20R V2.0 dustproof and waterproof.Charge Level IndicatorThe charge level indicator is also hidden under the cap that conceals the charging port.I have the 48 Hour Max Runtime as a con because there are other tactical flashlights out there with more than double this amount, but 48 hours is still a respectable runtime on Eco Mode.Other AccessoriesThe Fenix TK20R V2.0 comes with a holster, which fits the flashlight very well. There’s also a removeable clip, which can come in handy if you want to store the TK20R V2.0 in a backpack pocket, or the side of your pants. So there’s lots of options. The lanyard included is one of the best I’ve seen. For one, it uses a thin piece of string to loop through an opening on the tail-end of the flashlight. It’s also able to be tightened around your wrist if you choose to carry it.Fenix TK20R V2.0 ConclusionThe Fenix Lighting TK20R V2.0 is an excellent compact tactical flashlight with M-LOK mounting capabilities.I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the flashlight and performance. If you’re looking for an affordable and reliable M-LOK tactical flashlight for your AR-15, you’ll be very happy with Fenix Lighting.Sure, there’s better ones out there. But they’ll cost you more than double the price for not that much better quality or function. As always, thanks for reading this review and supporting my blog!
